Polish Drivers on the Podium at European Best Young Driver 2026!

Mateusz Nowak has been awarded Europe’s Best Young Driver, while Krzysztof Knyzio secured third place in the international final of European Best Young Driver 2026. The competition took place on 23–24 October at the Poznań Circuit, bringing together representatives from 13 European countries. Autostrada Wielkopolska was a partner of the event, continuing its long-standing commitment to promoting road safety and responsible driving.

This year’s European Best Young Driver final was a major success for the Polish team. Mateusz Nowak claimed victory, finishing ahead of Radoslav Stoyanov from Bulgaria. Fellow Polish representative Krzysztof Knyzio completed the podium in third place. Both drivers qualified for the European final through the national Best Young Driver competition, held in September with the support of Autostrada Wielkopolska.

More Than Just Driving Skills

European Best Young Driver is a competition that tests not only driving skills but, above all, knowledge, responsibility and the ability to respond appropriately to different situations on the road.
Over the two-day competition, participants faced a series of challenges assessing their driving precision, knowledge of traffic regulations, eco-driving skills, ability to assess a vehicle’s technical condition and first aid skills. The programme also included skid car challenges, off-road driving and workshops on advanced driver assistance systems.
This year’s eighth edition attracted a record number of participants. For the first time, the competition was held over two days and included challenges on a racing circuit.

Autostrada Wielkopolska Supports Responsible Drivers

Autostrada Wielkopolska’s involvement in European Best Young Driver forms part of its ongoing efforts to improve road safety. The company supports driver education, the development of practical driving skills and the promotion of responsible behaviour on the road.
Road safety is also at the heart of the company’s educational initiative, “Motorway Driving Course”, which gives drivers the opportunity to improve their driving skills on motorways and expressways free of charge.

The success of the Polish representatives at European Best Young Driver 2026 demonstrates that being a good driver is not just about handling a vehicle skilfully, but above all about being a responsible and safety-conscious road user.

Congratulations to the winners on their outstanding achievements!
