Winter maintenance

Winter maintenance of the concession-operated A2 motorway section between Świecko and Konin is carried out in full readiness from November 1 until the end of March, using 41 gritting trucks, 200 maintenance staff, and 12,000 tonnes of salt stored in five depots located along the route.

Maintenance teams operate under the highest, first level of winter road maintenance standards, which requires the roadway to be cleared within two hours after snowfall ends during the day and within four hours at night. In addition, the operator relies on its own meteorological stations and detailed weather forecasts to respond as quickly as possible to changing conditions. All activities aim to ensure maximum safety and maintain the full passability of the motorway, even in severe winter weather.
