Focus on Driving. “Don’t Do on the Road What You Wouldn’t Do in Life” Campaign

In everyday life, a lack of concentration can lead to a funny mistake. Behind the wheel, the consequences can be far more serious. In the ‘Don’t do on the road what you wouldn’t do in life’ campaign, we remind you: when driving, focus on what matters most – the road.

This time, we’re taking a closer look at a lack of concentration. As in the previous instalment of the campaign, we’re transferring behaviours familiar from the road into everyday life. In this context, their absurdity is immediately apparent. Behind the wheel, however, it’s easy to forget that a moment’s inattention can mean there isn’t enough time to react properly.

Your phone, the car’s display, eating or other activities carried out whilst driving distract your attention from what’s happening ahead. And on the Motorway, the situation can change very quickly.

At a speed of 140 km/h, a car covers nearly 40 metres in a single second. So even a brief moment of taking your eyes off the road is enough to travel a considerable distance without full control of the situation.

Don’t do on the road what you wouldn’t do in life. Don’t get distracted. Stay focused.

The Autostrada Wielkopolska public awareness campaign highlights the most common mistakes made when driving on the motorway. We do this with a sense of humour and a touch of irony – without lecturing, but with a clear message: behind the wheel, our everyday decisions have a direct impact on safety.

The first instalment of the campaign served as a reminder to keeping a safe distance from the vehicle in front>. This time, we’re encouraging drivers not to let anything distract them from the road.
