Changes in traffic organization in connection with the extension of the A2 motorway by a third lane

As of this Sunday, 1 June, the organization of traffic between the Poznań Krzesiny interchange and the Krzyżowniki/Tulce Rest Areas (km 171 – 178 of A2) and on the Poznań Wschód interchange will change. Road workers will proceed with the third lane construction in another section of the motorway. As a result, elements of the temporary traffic control will begin to be introduced from Saturday, 31 May. Please drive carefully, pay attention and obey traffic organization signs.

This Saturday, 31 May, between km 176 and 178 of the A2 motorway, new temporary lanes will be marked, warning signs will be replaced, as well as and mandatory and prohibitory signs related to the ongoing works performed. Since 1 June, the following traffic organization will be in place in the area:

• The crossover of traffic to the southern carriageway between km 171 and 176 of the motorway, where 4 lanes have been marked out – two in the direction to Warsaw and two in the direction to Świecko (“counterflow”) is still functioning. Trucks are not allowed to use the fast lanes, both in the direction to Warsaw and in the direction to Świecko. The emergency lane is not available. There is a speed limit of 60 km/h at the crossover locations.

• Between km 176 and 178, all traffic will be relocated to the southern carriageway where 4 lanes will be marked: two in the Warsaw bound direction and two in the Świecko bound direction (“counterflow”) with a trucks not allowed in the fast lanes in both directions (Warsaw and Świecko). The emergency lane will not be available. There will be a speed limit of 60 km/h at the crossover locations.

Krzyżowniki and Tulce Rest/Service Areas will be closed during that time. The nearest Rest or Service Areas will be:

• • Targowa Górka Rest Area (at km 200 of A2, southern carriageway) for drivers heading towards Warsaw – no gas station available
  • Gozdowo Service Area (at km 216 of A2, southern carriageway) for drivers heading towards Warsaw – gas station and fast food restaurant available
  • Dopiewiec Rest Area (at km 151 of A2, northern carriageway) for drivers heading towards Świecko – no gas station available
  • Sędzinko Rest Area (at km 133 of A2, northern carriageway) for drivers heading towards Świecko – no gas station available

• Between km 178 and 180 of the A2 motorway, traffic heading towards Świecko will be restored on the northern carriageway, which means that there will be two lanes open in each direction on both carriageways.

Since Sunday, 1 June the entry slip rods onto A2 from S5 will be opened both in the direction of Świecko and Warsaw. Thus, the first stage of pavement rehabilitation at the Poznań Wschód interchange will be completed as planned.

In the entire section where road works are being performed between km 171 and km 180 of A2, the speed limit will be 80 km/h, while in crossover locations the limit will be 60 km/h. Please drive carefully, pay attention to the signs, adjust your speed and maintain the distance between vehicles, according to the regulations.
