Read moreThe expansion of the A2 motorway section between the interchanges Poznań Krzesiny and Poznań Wschód (East) started end of June 2024. The progress of work is on schedule, with substantial completion of the additional acceleration and declaration lanes at the Poznań Krzesiny interchange achieved before the implementation of the winter traffic management arrangements on the motorway. Earthwork and pavement structure construction work was completed on a ca. 5 km long stretch between the service areas MOP Tulce/ MOP Krzyżowniki and the interchange Poznań Wschód (East) on both carriageways, running in two directions, i.e. to Świecko and to Warsaw. For safety-related reasons, these additional lanes remain closed and will be opened to traffic once the whole project has been completed and the new traffic management arrangements are in place. In addition, the structures of two motorway bridges have been widened so that these bridges may be used by the motorway traffic as part of the carriageway widening work to be carried out this year on the remaining part of this stretch of the motorway.
After the winter break, we are now recommencing third lane addition works on the A2 motorway stretch between the Poznań Krzesiny interchange and the service areas MOP Tulce/ MOP Krzyżowniki. As of March 16, the drivers will still have at their disposal two lanes in each direction, including three lanes on the westbound and one on the eastbound carriageways, as shown in the sketch below.
On the roadworks stretch of the A2 motorway between km 171 and km 176 traffic speed will be limited to 80 km/h in general, and to 60 km/h and at the detour starting points. Therefore, please drive cautiously, observe the road signs, slow down and maintain sufficient headway, as per the highway code.
The above construction schedule may change due to adverse weather conditions. We do everything we can to make this project run smoothly and timely and, as far as possible, avoid causing inconvenience to drivers. Please allow the road crews to work safely. Their safety depends also on your driving.
The safety railing installed between the traffic lanes and the roadworks area separates not only machines and, much more importantly, people. The works area has been carefully planned and safeguarding has been the primary issue. Construction safety rules and requirements were also a critical part of the work scheduling activities. The safety of the construction crews depends also on the driving behavior of the drivers travelling along the roadworks stretch. Therefore, we ask you to drive safely, slow down, observe the road signs and stay focused at all times.
Construction of the third lane on the next, 10 km long stretch of the Poznań Bypass of the A2 motorway between interchanges Poznań Krzesiny and Poznań Wschód (East) is intended to increase capacity of this road and ensure efficient, safe and comfortable driving on the A2 section under the concession agreement. The roadwork crews will do everything they can to provide the drivers with three traffic lanes in each direction on time. Please note that our collaboration is critical for ensuring their safety during construction!
