A2: FAST TO EUROPE!
\n106km section of A2 Motorway to the German border celebrates its 1st anniversary.<\/p>\n

\u2022 106 km section of the A2 Motorway from \u015awiecko to Nowy Tomy\u015bl is the largest infrastructural project in Europe implemented in the Public-Private Partnership system.
\u2022 A2 section opened to traffic on 1 December 2011, six months prior to the deadline agreed upon with the government
\u2022 the section was made available to drivers free of charge during 6 months (from 1 December 2011 to 21 May 2012)
\u2022 The value of the project performed using the modern, concrete technology amounts to EUR 1.3 milliard
\u2022 25% of the project budget was spent on environmental protection
\u2022 The project was co-financed by the European Investment Bank and the consortium of 11 Polish and foreign banks
\u2022 AWSA and AWSAII built 255 km of A2 motorway in total; this is the longest section built and managed by one concessionaire in Poland.<\/p>\n

Traffic in the A2 Motorway under concession:<\/strong>
\u015awiecko \u2013 Nowy Tomy\u015bl (106km) A2 section<\/span>
\u2022 4 mln vehicles used the Rzepin \u2013Nowy Tomy\u015bl section of A2 Motorway (from 1 December 2011 to 30 October 2012)
\u2022 in the Rzepin – Nowy Tomy\u015bl section the average daily traffic amounts to 11 thousand vehicles
\u2022 in the \u015awiecko \u2013 Rzepin section the average daily traffic amounts to 17 thousand vehicles.
\u2022 Traffic structure: 40% heavy vehicles, 60% passengers\u2019 cars
Nowy Tomy\u015bl \u2013 Konin A2 section (149km)<\/span>
\u2022 Average daily traffic amounts to 20 thousand vehicles
\u2022 From December 2002 to November 2012 55 million vehicles passed through the L\u0105dek TP
\u2022 From November 2003 to November 2012 47 million vehicles used the Nagradowice TP
\u2022 From October 2004 to November 2012 4 million passed through the Go\u0142uski TP
\u2022 Traffic structure: 30% heavy vehicles, 70% passenger cars
Free of charge Pozna\u0144 By-Pass:<\/span>
\u2022 50 thousand vehicles per 24 hours use the 13km Komorniki \u2013 Krzesiny section
\u2022 the average daily traffic in the Pozna\u0144 Wsch\u00f3d \u2013 Komorniki and Krzesiny \u2013 Pozna\u0144 Zach\u00f3d sections amounts to 31 thousand vehicles.
\u2022 The highest traffic flow ever exceeding 62 thousand vehicles was observed on 26 October 2012.<\/p>\n

The most important investments in A2 in the year 2012.<\/strong>
The upgraded Buk interchange was opened to traffic \u2013 23 April 2012<\/span>
\u2022 100% of the investment was financed from the AWSAII budget
\u2022 the connection of the Buk interchange towards the Western border in \u015awiecko was made available
\u2022 Toll Plaza was put into operation in the interchange
\u2022 the so-called partial tolls were introduced for trips made in the Buk \u2013 Pozna\u0144 and Buk \u2013 Nowy Tomy\u015bl section
2 new interchanges were opened to traffic: Pozna\u0144 Zach\u00f3d and Pozna\u0144 Wsch\u00f3d \u2013 3 and 4 June 2012.<\/span>
\u2022 The investment partly financed by AWSAII \u2013 the PLN 94 mln cost on AWSAII side
\u2022 Extension of the free of charge Pozna\u0144 By-Pass from 13 km to 25 km
The upgraded S\u0142upca interchange was opened to traffic \u2013 22 November 2012<\/span>
\u2022 100% of the investment financed from the AWSAII budget\u2013 the costs totaled almost PLN 40 mln
\u2022 less toll evasion in the flow of vehicles using the interchange
\u2022 the construction of the Toll Station in the interchange for drivers making S\u0142upca \u2013 Wrze\u015bnia and Wrze\u015bnia \u2013 S\u0142upca trips<\/p>\n

The most important plans for 2013<\/strong>
\u2022 Commencement of the works related to the construction of the third lane in the free of charge motorway by-pass of Pozna\u0144, obtaining environmental permits and decisions (the construction planned to start in 2014).
\u2022 Extension of the L\u0105dek TP (Wrze\u015bnia \u2013 Konin) by 2 additional lanes in each direction.
\u2022 Preparation to make the Jordanowo interchange available in the full scope. The Jordanowo interchange is strategic for the connection with Szczecin, Zielona G\u00f3ra or Gorz\u00f3w, and also for the development of the Lubuskie province. GDDKiA declared to open the express road no 3 to traffic on 1 July 2013.<\/p>\n

Impact of the A2 Motorway on road traffic safety<\/strong>
\u2022 During the last 5 years the road traffic safety improved as much as 25% owing to the motorways. In 2007 in all national and express roads and the motorways 10 536 accidents were observed, compared to 7991 in 2011. (GDDKiA data)
\u2022 With A2, the safety in the alternative DK92 road improved almost by 50%. In 2009, 239 accidents were noted (52 casualties, 320 injured), compared to 142 accidents in 2011. (36 casualties, 179 persons injured)<\/p>\n

European drivers\u2019 information services<\/strong>
\u2022 Infoline for drivers of the A2 concession section, open 7 days a week from 8.00 to 20.00, available at the telephone no 48 504 422 022 and e-mail address: infolinia@awsa.pl
\u2022 The infoline employees replied to over 6 thousand questions from drivers (from the opening on 5 March 2012)
\u2022 www.autostrada-a2.pl<\/a> \u2013 the Website also available in mobile and English language version
\u2022AWSAII channels in the community media \u2013 founded on 1 June 2012:
– Facebook: facebook.com\/autostradawielkopolska<\/a>
– Twitter: twitter.com\/autostradawlkp<\/a>
\u2022 Almost 1.5 thousand pieces of information on the current road situation in the A2 concession section, over 400 answers given to drivers\u2019 questions
\u2022 Almost 2000 persons in total are permanently interested in receiving the information concerning the motorway issues and follow-up of the current road situation in A2
\u2022 In August 2001 the calculator of trip costs in A2 was put into operation \u2013 the \u201eFast A2 connection, you know your cost\u201d application on Facebook. Upon the drivers\u2019 request the calculator was made available in AWSAII Website as well.<\/p>\n

A2 to \u015awiecko in the opinion of Pozna\u0144 inhabitants*<\/strong>
\u2022 73% think that Poland has gained a fast and safe connection to Europe owing to the A2 concession motorway
\u2022 57% state that the highest AWSAII value consists in extending the Pozna\u0144 by-pass from 13 km to 25 kilometers
\u2022 owing to A2,25% use the tourist offer of Berlin and other European cities more often, and 31% plan their holiday leaves taking into account the offers of German airports and travel agencies.
\u2022 19% appreciate modern, European quality of the construction technology, and 10% appreciate information services for drivers open 7 days a week during 24h<\/p>\n
